Cloud Express (D2Jam #1)
Cloud Express (Tech Demo, d2jam #1)
What to do during a train ride, when you are bored and all your electronic gadgets are dead? Look outside and use your imagination! What can you see?
Originally intended to be a game driven by visual story telling about a teenage girl having to face her fears during a train ride, the scope had to be reduced during the game jam to a Tech Demo due to technical issues and not having enough time/contributors. The game as it was originally intended will be published post-jam here.
UPDATES POST-JAM
General
Right now there is only one object to paint available. But if you stick around in the game for long enough, you are treated with a multi-variation soundtrack that is over three minutes long!
2025-03-25, 11:00 UTC
Due to a bug which can potentially freeze the machine one is playing the game on, the downloads are temporarily disabled.
2025-03-25, 14:30 UTC
Added a version that (hopefully) fixed the critical freezing bug and updated known issues
Controls
The game is entirely played with the mouse.
Draw: Mouse Movement
Interact: Left Click (LMB)
Auxillary Controls
Fullscreen: F
Menu/Cancel: ESC, BACKSPACE, Right Click (RMB)
Known Issues
Although it is theoretical possible, it is not recommended to play the game in the browser. Especially if you try to do so on lower-power hardware or tablets.
- When starting the game, the default user settings are loaded instead of the ones specified by the user
- Going back to the Main Menu breaks the sound playing capabilities.
- High computational load in general and especially in web browser
- Web browser (sometimes also MacOS): Changing from Main Menu to Game causes window size and control glitches
Theme Interpretation
The D2Jam #1 theme "Train" was interpreted in two ways:
- Train (Noun): The majority of the game takes place during a train ride
- train (verb): How to train your brain to enjoy being bored/imaginative

Very atmospheric! :) Although I can just reveal the d2jam logo. Is there more to explore?
Unfortunately, there is only the d2jam logo. Due to last hours/minute bugs, 99% of the content could not be implemented. There is a post jam version planned, which will be published as ConsTRAINt.
